Samsung April 2023 security update updates
Google has not yet released the April patch for Pixel devices that support Samsung smartphones. The April 1, 2023 Android Security Bulletin Release Notes contains fixes for 55 security flaws affecting various devices. As is often the case, when you install the April 2023 update on your device, you receive a patch summary with additional notes on device-specific fixes. They are often similar to the patch notes for the Galaxy S23 series below.
- Improved general function stability.
- The security of your device has been improved.
The April update for Samsung phones addresses a total of 66 security flaws, including 55 original fixes listed by Google. The fix addresses the Exynos chip and Exynos modem flaw found in many global variants of many Galaxy phones. Last month, the March patch fixed an issue affecting Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE security. This is still an issue for many devices, so it's best to disable this feature until you get the April patch for your Galaxy phone.
Devices with Samsung April 2023 Security Update
Usually, Samsung does not follow a strict update or release schedule for all of the company's devices. However, preference is often given to the latest Galaxy models, which include the S series along with the Fold and Flip series. After that, older flagships will be temporarily and randomly downsized for a month until most of Samsung's biggest and best phones are protected.
Many of the existing models, including the Galaxy A, M and F series, are regularly updated as part of the Korean tech giant's update program. While Galaxy Tab devices can receive semi-regular patches every so often, even some discontinued models like the Note line will still be technically supported for a while. Our constantly updated list makes it easy to see if your Samsung phone is eligible for the April 2023 security update.

Following its predecessor, the Galaxy S21 series is now undergoing a refresh in the US. However, the update only applies to carrier-bound models. I hope this will change in the coming days.
