This Popular Wireless Android Auto Adapter Just Got A Massive $30 Price Cut
The world of Android Auto wireless adapters has expanded significantly recently, notably thanks to AAWireless and the Motorola MA1.

Before AAWireless it was virtually impossible to go cable-free. After the introduction of AAWireless, the same idea attracted the attention of several companies, including Motorola, which invested in the development of similar devices.
The MA1 is primarily known as a Google-backed Android Auto Wi-Fi adapter, although the search giant was not involved in its development. He highlighted the device at the developer I/O event even though many people wanted the MA1 precisely because the search giant recommended it.
If you're looking for wireless Android Auto and interested in the MA1, there's no better time than now. The device is just $30 off at Amazon, retailing for $60.96 (down from $89.99). The price has been reduced by 32%, but there's no telling how long this will last, so buy the adapter soon.
Meanwhile, AAWireless is keeping its regular price of $74.99. However, there are big changes on the AAWireless front, including the next-gen version with CarPlay support. The feature is already in beta on select models and allows Apple users to ditch the cable and wirelessly connect their iPhone to the infotainment system.

The MA1 wireless supports 5GHz Wi-Fi for Android Auto and connects to your car via a USB port to support the Google in-car experience. Pairing the device with your phone via Bluetooth and Android Auto turns on automatically when all connections are made.
The experience is quite plug-and-play, and once you connect all your devices (infotainment, phone and adapter), you'll be able to run Android Auto wirelessly.
After connecting the adapter to your car for the first time, you can forget about it. It turns off when you turn off your device and restarts when you turn it on, then automatically turns on Android Auto wirelessly when all connections are restored.

A while back I published an article that specifically addressed the potential reliability issues that can arise with the MA1 after a few months of daily use. Experiences seem to be mixed, and some readers have told me they've used the adapter for over two years without a problem.
However, some readers have said that the adapter stops working after some time for unknown reasons.
“My first MA1 broke 11 months after purchase. I contacted support and a new device was sent as the first device still had a year of warranty. The second device I received had a 90 day warranty. "They die within four months of application", explains Benko Adamis.
Motorola has never commented on this reliability issue, but be aware that reliability issues can also be caused by other parts of your setup: your car or your mobile device. Delayed updates to either can cause connectivity issues and damage your Android Auto wireless adapter, causing random connection drops and other reliability issues.

While the new AAWireless version is on the radar, many are wondering if Motorola has a better model in mind. I've asked around and no one seems to be aware of Motorola's ongoing plans, which means the company is either not planning a second-generation Android Auto wireless adapter or is already working on it and making a great job keeping all the details under wraps. from the press
Google's I/O developer event, where Motorola could potentially launch an upgraded model, will take place in the spring, but I wouldn't hold my breath for such an announcement. The current version is still selling well, and while some see the deep discounts as a sign that Motorola is looking to clear inventory before introducing a new model, there's no clear evidence that such a device is on the radar.
