Techno Titan Richie Hawtin On Bringing The Noise For Prada
Sorry fans, but this is the first time I 've heard you live at Pure , maybe 94 …
There was only one clean! The name speaks for itself. Only the 90s were pure; There was no incentive, no money, a good night's sleep and if you like techno music, this is where you find yourself. So should the beauty of the dance floor. It is a place where strange like-minded people meet and connect with each other. It can be a powerful experience.
How did you get on the ground in the first place?
In the late 80's I was in Canada across from Detroit. So when I was 14, 15, I went to the city for concerts and then I discovered techno and great dance floors. I discovered music on Detroit radio and began exploring record stores and clubs. I was a brave, smart kid, into music and computers, and then found freedom on dance floors and other nerds like me.
The show was so exciting that it quickly went underground and was commercialized. How do you read culture today?
I think what's amazing is how welcoming and safe the dance floor was in the '90s, and that's one of the things we've lost as we've gotten older. But now there is a renaissance, a new generation is coming that will once again make the dance floor a place of connection and comfort for everyone... Music should be a source of joy and happiness.
This way you will plan your programming and organize the party later. what is the plan
This is Prada's third expansion, and the idea is that each night reflects the culture and environment. So here in Miami we want to explore and celebrate some Latin roots and consider the melting pot that is Miami. It will be a night of techno, house, acoustic and minimal rhythms... and going back to the power of the dance floor, I think that music and fashion have a common mission - although different in different languages - to make way give to each To express who we are and who we want to be.
