Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus Review: The Most Premium Redmi Yet
Xiaomi's budget sub-brand Redmi is known for producing high-end phones (only BBK group's Realme can really compete), and Redmi's latest Note series covers an attractive price segment for budget consumers in Southeast Asia or Latin America and Europe. : . The high-end model that caught my eye was the Note 13 Pro Plus, as it is the most premium looking Redmi phone.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus has an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and feels as good in hand as the curved panel on a $1,000 phone. The 2712 x 1200 resolution and 1800 nits brightness are high marks for a Redmi phone.
The back design of the mobile phone looks beautiful with pastel colors and artistic design.
There's a 200-megapixel camera (from Samsung with a 1/1.4-inch image sensor), Gorilla Glass Victus protection, and a large 5,000mAh battery. Far from all these premium pieces. The phone is mid-range, with Mediatek's mid-range Dimension 7200 Ultra chip, a low-end ultra-wide camera, and no official zoom lens or IP water resistance rating. However, Mediatek's silicone is more than durable enough for everyday use, and the phone's price of $380 (based on retail price in India) means you can't complain too much about it.
The main camera does a great job using a 16 to 1 pixel ratio to capture images in the higher price range. The shutter speed is a little slower than some of the better flagship phones I've used, so it looks a little blurry when shooting at night. But again, I can't complain about a phone at this price.
The battery life lasts all day and the Xiaomi software has the smoothest animations. Overall, this is Redmi's most premium phone and the closest to the $400 flagship model.
