Cape May Techs Open House On Nov. 14 Shows Off New Facilities & Programs
When the Cape May Technical School District hosts an open house on Tuesday, Nov. 14, visitors will also be able to see the new facilities and programs.
The growing campus reflects the growing demand for career and technical education (CTE).
Community members can meet with faculty and administrators during a tour of the Cape Tech campus from 6 to 8 p.m. Student ambassadors will lead tours of the state-of-the-art facilities. Current students will also showcase their projects and skills during the open house.
“We are excited for new students to experience all we have to offer with more opportunities in the future,” said Jamie Mosconi, superintendent of the Cape May Technical School District. “After years of working on this expansion, we can show a new generation of potential Cape Tech students what we are all about. At Cape Tech, as we teach our students to think and innovate, we share the same lessons.”
These improvements will affect the College and Career Readiness Center, Media Center, Maker Space and Conference Center. The county also has plans for a new esports stadium, a new culinary lab with restaurants, renovated hotel facilities, a new pier and a renovated waterfront activities pier.
The new programs will also expand opportunities. Cape Tech began offering environmental sciences and sustainability this academic year, and 2024-2025 students will be able to choose from six additional programs after their first year. The new programs are cybersecurity, dental care, electrical trading, ship maintenance, medical and veterinary care.
Visitors to the open house will also be able to learn more about Cape Tech's expanded list of sports and other extracurricular activities. Students can compete in the Atlantic Cape League in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and volleyball. Intramural sports are also offered. Students can explore interests and find leadership opportunities in clubs including American Sign Language Club, SkillsUSA, Student Council, Moot Court, Peer Club, Future Farmers of America, Key Club, National Honor Society, and others.
Cape Tech designs its programs to give students a successful start to college and career success. The district educates students with a variety of career aspirations, from doctors to engineers, chefs, carpenters and everything in between.
