The OnePlus Open Could Be A Rebranded Oppo Find N3
A new rumor claims that the China-only Oppo Find N3 will launch in America under the name OnePlus Open.
Also known as the OnePlus V Fold in other reports, OnePlus' first foldable phone comes in either black or green.
According to the leaks, it will have the same form factor as the Oppo Find N2.
It's no secret that OnePlus will be the next big Android brand to release a foldable phone, but new rumors claim that the OnePlus Open (or OnePlus V Fold) will be Oppo's redesigned foldable phone.
According to publication Max Jambor, OnePlus' first foldable smartphone will be the rebranded Oppo Find N3, which is expected to launch in China. This means that, unlike the China-exclusive Oppo Find N2, Oppo's next book-style foldable device may eventually come to the US, albeit under a different branding.
The leaker added that the OnePlus Open will have the same form factor as the Oppo Find N2. It's no surprise that Oppo makes phones with the same form factor under the OnePlus brand, since OnePlus is already popular in North America.
Previous leaks indicated that the OnePlus Open will launch on August 29, a month after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. This is in line with what OnePlus announced earlier this year when it confirmed that its OnePlus-branded foldable tablet would be released in the second half of 2023.
Rumors of a foldable OnePlus smartphone are nothing new. The OnePlus Open features an internal 8-inch QHD+ 120Hz display paired with an external 6.5-inch FHD+ 120Hz display. The cameras may include a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP ultra wide-angle lens, and a 64MP 3x periscope lens.
Some of these rumors have been confirmed by Jumbo who claims that the phone will have a periscope lens. It is said to be available in black and green as well.
OnePlus has a reputation for making affordable flagships, with the OnePlus 10 Pro and 10T priced under $900, and we'll finally be seeing affordable foldables.
However, until foldable phones become more popular, most of them will remain expensive.
