Vivo has tested some of its smartphones on Geekbench. After a hands-on test with the Vivo iQOO Neo 7 Pro, a Vivo-branded phone - the Vivo S17 - appeared on the comparison site. As expected, Geekbench revealed some key specifications of the smartphone. The newly spotted phone bears the model number Vivo V2283 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor.
Vivo S17 has passed Geekbench
The alleged Vivo S17 has been listed on Geekbench with the codename 'Lahaina'. Based on the CPU and Adreno 642L GPU specs, it is easy to confirm that it is Qualcomm Snapdragon 778+. It is a powerful mid-range chipset with 4 ARM Cortex-A78 cores and a GPU that can easily handle demanding games. It is interesting that the benchmark confirms a large amount of RAM - about 12 GB. Finally, this phone runs Android 13, so Funtouch OS 13 for the global market and OriginOS 3 for China.

The camera details of S17 Pro have been announced
We expect Vivo to confirm the Vivo S17 chipset soon as the brand has started a teaser campaign for the device. Today, the official Vivo Weibo page started revealing some details of the Vivo S17 Pro. The brand has announced that the phone will have an LED flash that can activate at different temperatures. It will also bring dual front-facing LED flash on the top panel of the phone. It comes into play when you want to take a selfie in a dark environment. The Vivo S17 Pro is said to come with a 50MP camera for selfies and video calling.
Surprisingly, the Vivo S17 has a 50MP front camera. After all, there are always stories about super powerful selfie cameras in this line. We expect this camera to offer a wider field of view to overcome the shortcomings of ultra-wide cameras. The teaser also shows that the portrait camera will have a 2x telephoto lens. Also, the phone is equipped with a kind of "super sensitive spectral sensor" that allows for better color reproduction. Unfortunately, Vivo does not share detailed information about this technology.
Vivo S17 and S17 Pro will hit the Chinese market on May 31. The Vivo S17 and Vivo Pro should eventually hit other markets like the Vivo V28 and V28 Pro respectively. This new smartphone is Vivo's latest approach to conquer the premium mid-range market. As already shown in the teasers, the focus of the S and V series will be cameras. Vivo S17 Pro appeared on the Google Play console a few days ago. And you can see more details here.
