Vivo X Flip With Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC Shows Up On Geekbench Ahead Of Launch: Report
The Vivo X Flip has been the subject of numerous leaks and rumors in recent months. But there is still no sign of an official launch, apart from rumors that the foldable model will be launched in the company's Chinese market in the coming weeks. The device will be the company's first vertically foldable smartphone and, in addition to the foldable internal display, it will also have Zeiss-branded rear cameras, just like the current Z Fold+. Geekbench scores of the phone have surfaced online following a recent leak that revealed its core hardware.
First spotted by GSMArena, the yet-to-be-announced foldable smartphone has appeared on Geekbench. The phone reportedly scored Geekbench (version 6) scores of 1695 and 4338 in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. The listing also hints at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC inside. It's the same SoC available in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, but it's different from the recently announced Oppo Find N2 Flip.
Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 4 was launched in August 2022 and was the only flip phone available in India at the time of launch. In comparison, the Oppo Find N2 Flip powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC scored 1153 and 3339 points respectively in our Geekbench single and multi-core tests.
According to a recent leak, the Vivo X Flip is expected to have an internal display similar to the Oppo Find N2 Flip. The phone is said to sport a 6.8-inch OLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and Full HD+ (1080 x 2520 pixels) resolution with an aspect ratio of 21:9. Little is known about its external display, although it has appeared in previous leaks. However, we do know that it will have a rectangular shape similar to the Motorola RAZR 2022 in design.
As for the cameras, there is said to be a selfie camera on the foldable screen inside. There should be two cameras on the outer shell. The setup consists of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX866 main camera and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 ultra-wide camera. Earlier leaks also claim that the phone will come with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage in the base variant. The phone is expected to have a 4,400mAh battery along with 44W wired charging, similar to Oppo's Find N2 Flip.
The Vivo X Flip will offer more variety in the company's range of sophisticated kits, but will also be a more affordable option. The recently announced Vivo X Fold+ is priced at CNY 10,000 which is around Rs. 1,20,000 in India. The device was sold only in China. While Vivo has launched several premium smartphones in India, the company is yet to launch its first foldable phone and will face additional competition from Samsung, which was the only brand to launch the Z Flip and Z Fold foldables in the country this year. . The Oppo Find N2 Flip is the only other foldable device available in India that was recently launched in the country for Rs. 89,999.
