Vivo X90S Appears On Google Play Console Listing, Reveals New MediaTek Processor: Report

The Vivo X90 and X90 Pro have been launched in India, but the Chinese smartphone brand is already preparing the successor to the Vivo X90. The device is called the Vivo X90S and it has been spotted on the Google Play console, revealing some key features in the process. While there is no official statement from Vivo regarding this, it is easy to conclude that this device is an improvement over the current Vivo X90 thanks to the new processor.

MySmartPrice first reported that the device with model number V2241A was listed on the Google Play Console. Vivo X90S, according to the specifications, is powered by MediaTek MT6985, which mainly alludes to the Dimension 9200 SoC in the upcoming smartphone. The listed device also comes with 12GB of RAM and an FHD+ display. In terms of software, it runs on Android 13.

Also, the console specs from Google Play reveals the design of the phone and it definitely resembles the Vivo X90 that was launched in the market. The top has a curved edge display and a punch-hole camera. The featured app runs on Vivo's OriginOS operating system.

According to a hint posted on a digital chat site on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, the processor listed could be the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC. Meanwhile, according to a report from GSMArena, it could be a slightly improved version of the current processor with a higher clock speed. MediaTek's new processor is said to be available on May 10th. The MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC should be better than the Dimensity 9200 SoC in Vivo, as it remains to be seen where this new smartphone will fit. The X90 series was launched in India.

Vivo has launched the X90 and X90 Pro in India. Both of these devices are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC, but have slightly different designs and cameras. For reasons well known to Vivo, the Indian launch of the high-end X90 Pro+ model is not included here. This device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and an excellent camera that matches last year's Vivo X80 Pro. Vivo X90 is priced at Rs. 59,999 for the base variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the X90 Pro is available at Rs. 84,999 only for the variant with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
