Redmis Latest 300W Charging Feat Powers Your Phone In Under Five Minutes
Redmi's fast charging technology just got more fun. In this Weibo post, the Xiaomi-owned phone maker showcases its new 300W fast charging technology that can recharge the phone in five minutes, as previously revealed by Android Authority .
If you don't believe me, you can see for yourself here. Redmi also offers a super fast charger on the updated Note 12 Discovery Edition, which is equipped with a 4100 mAh battery instead of a 4300 mAh battery.
The dual-generation device can charge the phone's battery in just over two minutes, reaching 100% after five minutes. It's time to finish eating the breakfast cereal or even empty the dishwasher.
Although Redmi advertises that the charger charges up to 300W, it only reaches 290W during the charging process. Either way, it's an impressive feat, beating the company's previous record of charging the Note 12 Discovery Edition to 240W in nine minutes.
It also beats Chinese phone maker Realme, which earlier this month unveiled its fast charging technology that can charge the new GT Neo 5 in less than 10 minutes. Other Chinese phone companies including OnePlus have tried to standardize charging, but still can't match Redmi's latest charging time. But hey, at least the OnePlus 10T is available in the US and can fully charge in around 20 minutes.
We don't know if Redmi will bring this technology to any of its smartphones, but it seems possible. After all, if you add the nine-minute charging feature to the Note 12 Discovery Edition launched in China, what's to stop it from offering faster speeds to customers in the future?
