Why Doesn't Android Have This IPhone Alwayson Display Feature?

Generations later, Apple finally caught up with Android and gave the iPhone the always-on display feature. However, in addition to keeping the device always on, Apple has also given its phone the ability to turn off the screen when users leave the room.
Last week, Apple's latest smartphone, the iPhone 14, was unveiled at the Far Out event. During the launch, the company listed several features that will be available on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, including the always-on feature. While this feature isn't new to Android owners, Apple has done something with functionality that Android is likely to adopt.
While attending an event at the Steve Jobs Theatre, German YouTuber Felixba spent some time with the newly announced productions. When a user turns on the Always-On Display, pairs the Apple Watch with an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max, and leaves the room, the device will automatically turn off the Always-On Display and turn off the screen, Felixba said.
It looks like the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max can use proximity data from the watch to detect the user's presence. When the user reaches a certain distance, the switch is activated. This will be in line with many other battery-saving features the company has implemented in its latest generation devices, such as the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max's power-efficient OLED panels and variable refresh rates up to 1Hz.
Interestingly, this useful feature, oddly enough, was not announced during the Apple event. There is no mention of this anywhere on the Apple website.
This seems like a very useful feature for Android devices. We hope Google takes note and includes this feature in future updates.
