Vivo X Fold Plus Debuts With Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 And 80W Fast Charging

As planned, Vivo officially launched the Vivo X Fold Plus smartphone in China. The X Fold Plus is a foldable smartphone that follows the original Fold that was launched earlier this year. Vivo X Fold Plus Specifications and Features

Vivo X Fold Plus is similar to the previous design, but brings with it a new shade of red that adds more dynamism. The foldable phone has an 8.03-inch main display with 2K+ (1916 x 2160 pixels) resolution. It's an AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It also features a 6.53-inch AMOLED secondary screen with Full HD + resolution (1080 x 2520 pixels) and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Vivo introduced a gaming mode that increases the touch sample rate of the screen up to 240 Hz. The phone's display also acts as an in-display fingerprint reader for added security. Under the hood, the phone is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The type of RAM and storage used by Vivo is LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1.

In terms of optics, the foldable phone has a quad-camera setup on the back with a 50MP main lens, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, a 12MP portrait lens and a 2MP periscope lens. The periscope camera has a 5x optical zoom and OIS support. Even the main lens supports OIS. On the front is a 16MP selfie camera.

The device has a slightly larger 4730mAh battery than the old model and offers better support for 80W fast wired charging. The device supports 50W wireless charging and wireless charging. The smartphone starts with Android 12 operating system by default and has a custom OriginOS Ocen skin.

It has 5G connectivity, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and GPS support. There is a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer, which can also be used for wired headphones as the device lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Vivo X Fold Plus starts at 9,999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 1,15,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant and 10,999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 1,25,000) for the 12GB + 512GB variant in Red and Blue and is available black options. The device will be available in China from September 29.
