Black Techno Matters Set To Release Huge New 'F_X_M_X_L_Y V2' Compilation

Washington, DC-based label Black Techno Matters has announced that it will kick off 2024 with a limited edition 64 GB USB drive for its sophomore compilation album, "F_X_M_X_L_Y v2."

The compilation features over 17 hours of music with 130 songs from 16 artists, an archive booklet on USB drive and will include video footage from previous Black Techno Matters shows, two DJ mixes and three sample packs. The label hinted at "more surprises" via Bandcamp.

Contributors include Adam 2, Blvksite, B_X_R_N_X_R_D, FUTURE DRUM CIRCLE, Jamal Dixon, Kotic Couture, MerlinBerlin, Outputmessage, Smoke & Tea, and Trovarsi.

Each artist is given complete freedom to choose what to add to their respective USB folder, with additions ranging from modular live sets, sample packs and full EPs, as well as a wealth of unreleased material and files.

There will be only 100 USB copies of Black Techno Matters 'F_X_M_X_L_Y v2', "the next level for any DJ collection", available for pre-order now and shipping from January 12, 2024. The compilation is as follows. Will be released digitally on Bandcamp on the same date.

Founded in 2019 by Bernard Farley AKA B_X_R_N_X_R_D, Black Techno Matters is a collective that aims to “reclaim techno as an expression of black expression in a society that oppresses it by creating spaces, both virtual and real, that celebrate the roots of black techno.”

Also on the team are CTO Marshall Stokes, the company that runs Black Techno Matters Radio's operations, and Justin Barini-Rivers, aka Blovixite, an "Ableton Ninja" who helps run the label, for example mastering new compilation tracks. and educate children in music production.
