Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6: What We Want To See
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is one of the best flip phones money can buy and one of the best flip phones Samsung has ever made, so we have high hopes for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
However, Samsung may need to make some big changes to fully match our expectations from this phone, and to find out what those changes are, visit the second half of this article where you'll find the Galaxy Z Phone 6 wish list.
But before that, let's see when the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be released, how much it will cost and what are the first rumors about it. We'll be adding to this article as they appear, so check back here soon if you want an update.
Just get to the point.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6: Release Date and Price
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is likely to launch almost a year after the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which was announced in late July and shipped in mid-August.
So the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be announced in July or August 2024, and since all new models go on sale in August, we expect the same for the Z Flip 6.
We also expect it to be at least the same as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, which means at least a $999.99 / £1,049 / AU$1,649 starting price, but that's speculation for now.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6: News and Rumors
We haven't heard much about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, but Samsung itself claims to be working on a dust-resistant foldable phone, so there's a chance it could be the Z Flip 6. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 already has excellent water resistance, but there's no official dust resistance rating yet.
Also, leaker @Tech_Reve (who previously leaked the correct information) claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will have a 50MP camera. They didn't say which cameras would get this update, but Galaxy has since echoed claims that a 50MP camera on the Z Flip 6 will be the primary camera, and that a 50MP sensor is currently being tested. .
For reference, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a 12 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera and a 10 MP selfie camera, while the recently launched Z Fold 5 has its own 50 MP sensor, replacing the flip sensor. It's a 50MP sensor. The sensor could be a huge improvement.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6: What we want to see
Our Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 review gave the phone 4.5 stars, so it's a great phone, but that doesn't mean the next model can't be even better. Here are five things we'd like to check out about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 to make it the best flip cover.
1. Dust protection
You might expect foldable phones to be dust resistant considering their high cost, but most don't have official dust resistance and that includes all Samsung foldable phones. We would love to see this added to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Thankfully, there's still hope, with Samsung itself saying it's working on making future foldable phones dustproof, but not specifically mentioning the Z Flip 6.
2. Better battery life
In our review of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, we noted that while battery life is useful and better than before, it's still not as good as we'd like. No doubt this phone has a small battery of 3700 mAh. So we want better battery life for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 with bigger battery or optimization.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5's 25W power supply is quite slow by 2023 standards, so we want to charge it quickly.
3. Telephone
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 isn't the phone to buy if photography is your priority, especially if you like phone photography, as it lacks a zoom lens.
So we'd like to see something on par with the original and ultra-wide lens added to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. As we mentioned in our Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra review, we don't require 10x zoom - a standard 3x zoom should do the trick.
4. Cheap price
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 in the U.S. is priced very attractively at under $1,000, and while it has double the storage space, it starts at the same price as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. But the outlook elsewhere is less rosy.
In the UK the starting price is £50 higher (although it's still slightly cheaper for the same storage, you get 256GB instead of 128GB) and in Australia the starting price is much higher (256GB for both versions). (The Z Flip 4 and Z Flip 5 are the same price, but there's no cheaper 128GB option for the Z Flip 4.)
It's a trend we definitely don't want to see continue, so at least we expect the price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 to stay the same, but we'd like it to drop in regions outside of the US.
5. Large screen cover
With the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung has dramatically increased the screen size to 3.4 inches, compared to 1.9 inches in the previous model. This makes it more usable, but it's still quite narrow and there's room to make it at least a little bigger.
Samsung could follow Motorola's lead and put a bigger camera notch on the likes of the Motorola Razr Plus / Razr 40 Ultra. Make the top of the phone full. However, we wish the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 was a little bigger.
