Bay City, Michigan. - The rain held its own for the spectacular finale of the Bay City Fireworks Festival on Saturday, July 1.

The last day of the festival which started on Thursday 29 June ended with fireworks

Frontline people stocked up on chairs and blankets at popular Bay City locations such as Uptown, Middle Plains, Veterans Memorial Park, and Venona Park.

Shortly thereafter, at 10:12 p.m., the spectacular finale begins. Thousands watched from boats along the Saginaw River, eyes glued to the night sky for the spectacular closing show.

After the fireworks ended, the sky cleared with rain and the last night of the festival came to an end.

There's plenty to do in Bay City before Saturday night.

At Veterans Park, the Scarbeck Family Carnival offers carnival goers a variety of rides and delicious food. There are more fun rides like "Freak Out" and "Techno Power", as well as quieter rides for younger children.

Associated with the carnival is the Merchant Alley Market, where vendors sell a variety of goods and services such as clothing and accessories, crafts, lemonade and face painting.

Festival-goers can end the day at Wenonah Park with music, dancing, food trucks and the chance to find a spot by the river to catch the evening fireworks.

The John Fat Quartet is broadcast live at Wenona Park from 7-10pm. The band distributed guitars and t-shirts to the audience.
