Technology tycoon Daniel Starr rented the guest house to the newlyweds for about $64,000 a month. However, things turned sour when an angry Costner resisted Starr's "consolation" with Baumgartner, according to Page Six .
According to The Sun, Costner and Baumgartner's divorce followed a series of nasty confrontations between Starr and Costner. Starr, who signed a 12-month lease last June, said he had done nothing wrong and confronted Costner with a barrage of letters and legal documents.

Starr, who lives in the couple's beach house, "came into their house almost every day," the source explained.
“Daniel was [really] happy living at home. It's on the beach and she has a 4-year-old son who wanted to call it home. When she moved in, she befriended Chris and Kevin. He communicated with them. Children. But Kevin was still away from filming so Chris had to be left alone,” another source told The Sun. This led to an "argument" between Costner and Starr, with the "3 Days to Kill" actor "going nuts."
According to the report, Starr is a "respectful" guy, and the tech entrepreneur hasn't crossed any lines in his relationship with the Baumgartners. Starr was said to have a high opinion of Costner and believed he was a wonderful father to her children.
The source then added that the Baumgartners did not like "Daniel's attitude towards their friendship. He texted her and said he wanted out.' Unfortunately, Costner “jumped off the roof and stayed with his wife. After all, he wasn't ready to listen to Daniel." Starr was fired in March, and a representative for Starr told the Daily Mail:
Baumgartner, 49, recently filed for divorce from Costner, ending their 18-year relationship. The latest development in the rift has the Yellowstone star seeking court documents to evict the Baumgarts from his $145 million, 10-acre beachfront property in Carpinteria, California.
Baumgartner's attorney, John Rydel, said he had no right to do so, discussing Costner's legal efforts to get his wife and children out of their Santa Barbara home. "Although there is no legal basis for Kevin's request to evict his wife and children from the home, it still means a lot to Christine," Rydell concluded.
Costner has three children with Baumgartner: Kayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and daughter Grace, 13. Veteran Annie (39) and Lily (36) with son Joe (35) with ex-wife Cindy. Silva and his son Liam (27) with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Rooney.
