Vivo V27 Pro Brings The Fight To OnePlus 11R With A Better Design
The smartphone market in India is inherently highly competitive. Rarely have we seen a phone that relies so heavily on design to stand up to the competition. But Vivo V27 Pro is such a smartphone.
The slim design makes it the most comfortable phone in the price range, at least for me. It's thin and light with a color-changing back cover, while sharing the same 50MP + 8MP + 2MP rear camera setup as the OnePlus 11R. Compared to other phones, it is a slim device so it was not a problem to use it with one hand. The chipsets are different, but in my experience day-to-day performance is similar with both phones.
The Vivo V27 Pro has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, which is slightly larger than the OnePlus 11R's 6.74-inch display. It offers FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2400) with a 120 Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support with Widevine L1 certification. Everything comes together for a fluid, clear and dynamic viewing experience. I had no trouble viewing the screen in daylight. However, you get one speaker at the bottom, which isn't great. On the other hand, the OnePlus 11R offers more powerful stereo speakers for a better multimedia experience.
The Vivo mid-range phone comes with MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset with 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It is good if it doesn't have any movement in daily use. It runs apps smoothly and handles games like Asphalt 9. Vivo V27 Pro packs a 4600mAh battery with 66W fast charging support to charge from 10% to 100% in an hour. It will be used sparingly throughout the day, but on busy days, fast charging can drain the battery quickly.
The Vivo V27 Pro features a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP macro camera. It comes with an exclusive Indian filter designed for Indian weddings, keeping the color scheme in mind.
The main camera can take excellent photos in bright light. Even in the shade, it retains a good amount of detail. Portrait mode usually sees edge detection, and night photography is above average as well. By contrast, the 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera is mediocre at best, and the 2-megapixel macro sensor is unusable.
Vivo is working to remove some viruses in the FunTouch 13 OS, which is based on the Android 13 wallpaper-based interface. I didn't use iManager, which is designed to control app usage, to control the temperature. The operating system allows you to hide selected photos and videos from the gallery. Overall, FunTouch OS has become better and smoother than ever over time.
The Vivo V27 Pro competes with the OnePlus 11R in the Rs 40,000 price segment in India. In my experience, it offers the best combination of design and camera for average performance and battery life. At a starting price of Rs 37,999, it is lower than the OnePlus 11R. If you're looking for a thin and light phone that won't weigh down your wrist, the Vivo V27 Pro is a solid choice.
