Apple Watch Series 8 is a waterproof, dust and crack resistant smartwatch with advanced heart rate monitoring features. It has many health monitoring features including an optical heart sensor, an electrical ECG heart sensor, a blood oxygen sensor and a new body temperature sensor.

You can join yoga, meditation and other training programs through Apple Fitness+. (Apple Fitness+ is a subscription service. It costs $9.99 a month; Apple Watch customers get the first month free.) It also has a new collision detection feature that detects the scene of a serious car accident and notifies emergency services.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 is an upgrade of the popular Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. It features 10W smart charging, which is a big improvement over the sluggish 5W battery offered in the previous model. It also features advanced training algorithms and sleep tracking technology.

The Galaxy Watch 5 has an advanced bioactive sensor that collects more accurate data. This data can be managed and monitored in the Samsung Health app.

This is the first time Samsung has offered a sapphire crystal for a non-premium smartwatch. (Sapphire crystal isn't actually glass. It's a ceramic that mimics the clarity of glass and is more durable.)

You can stream music downloaded from Spotify and Amazon Music. When the watch is paired with a smartphone, it can receive notifications.
