The Techno Phantom V Fold reinvents the price of a book-style fold. With a retail price of Rs 88,888 ($1,090) and a best introductory price of Rs 77,777 ($955), it's cheaper than the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Oppo Find N2 Flip. In the words of beloved YouTuber Michael Fisher, "The Techno Phantom V Fold is a fold at a flip price."
I've been using the Phantom V Fold for some time now and it doesn't feel cheap in the hand. When you hold it in your hand, you won't notice that it's almost half the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. You'll start to feel the difference between Tecno and Samsung's foldable phones the second you open it and start interacting with the phone.
But this is only possible when using both phones. The Tecno Phantom V Fold serves as a great entry point for anyone entering the foldable market and wanting a foldable book-style phone rather than a foldable phone. However, it lacks its uniqueness.
The Phantom V Fold does some things better than the Galaxy Z Fold 4, but lags behind in others

For example, the Tecno phone has a large 6.42-inch external display. It acts as a large screen for interaction. It has an AMOLED LTPO panel which looks sharp and vibrant. Inside is a 7.85-inch 2K foldable screen. Even when swiping to the center of the screen, it's surprising to see there's hardly any crease. You can only see it if you look at it from a side angle.

For a flagship, "Spring" would be the right word to describe it. It doesn't have a tilt mode, so when you open the phone, it unlocks by itself. It's designed so that there are no gaps between the screens when folded, which is always a good thing for indoor displays. However, I felt it wobble as I pressed my bent upper body against my lower body. It will be interesting to see how the zipper ages.
Tecno offers a one-time screen replacement within six months and a two-year warranty to restore consumer confidence.

The company claims that there are 2,000 apps to take advantage of the Phantom V Fold's internal display. HiOS UI enables multitasking within system applications. However, application scaling requires additional time. The multitasking experience isn't quite as smooth as the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Some system apps have the name "AI" for a reason: "AI Camera" and "AI Gallery" are a few examples.

The new foldable Techno is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC coupled with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It sports a triple rear camera setup which includes a 50MP main camera, a 50MP 2x zoom lens, and a 13MP ultra wide-angle camera. There is a 32MP selfie shooter on the cover screen and a 16MP front camera on the folding screen. I haven't used the camera enough to talk about quality.
The Phantom V Fold has a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W wireless fast charging. You won't get wireless charging support. According to the company, the V Fold can be charged to 40 percent in 15 minutes and fully charged in 55 minutes, which I will review in full.
