Looking back at seven days of news and headlines in the Android world, this week's Android Circle includes a review of the Samsung Galaxy A54, Pixel 8 Pro specs, the launch of the Redmi Note 12, three Huawei P60 phones, the new No Ear (2), the first Techno headphones. foldable and with Android Apple fights for a premium position.
Android Circuit is here to round up some of the many things that have been happening around Android in the last week (you'll find Apple's weekly news roundup here).
Galaxy A54 review
The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G is supposed to be the successor to the wildly popular A53 smartphone, and on paper it performs quite well… but in the real world, the answer is slightly different. Reviewing the phone for Sam Mobile, Abhijit Mishra noted that the hardware had improved a lot, but the software needed time to fix bugs.
Samsung has made several improvements to justify the increase in the price of the Galaxy A54 5G.
But Samsung's inability to optimize the software to use the new chip and fix the stuttering and phone crash that plagued the Galaxy A53 5G last year makes the Galaxy A54 5G incredibly hard to spot. ."

There's a new drink in town.
This week, a Chinese tech company made waves with the launch of a foldable tablet-style smartphone. The Phantom Vfold has received rave reviews and the chipset performance has been praised:
"The Phantom V Fold is powered by the Demonty 9000+ SoC, MediaTek's flagship chip from last year, and even though it's been replaced by the mighty 9200, it's still very capable... We really enjoy long gaming sessions and on-screen gameplay Real Estate Some games performed better than others because the user interface had to revert to its usual square aspect ratio, but all of our favorite games played flawlessly.
The upcoming Google Pixel family, including the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, which are scheduled to launch in mid-2023, will likely feature a Tensor Mobile chipset called the Tensor G3. From Samsung's production support, can the Internet find the first confirmation of the G3?
"The core provided by the whistleblower is believed to be codenamed 'Quadra' for the Samsung Semiconductor chipset and is believed to be officially called Exynos 2300." The Tensor Pixel 6 is based on the Exynos 2100, while the Tensor G2 Pixel 7 is related to the Exynos 2200. It makes sense that this is the chip Google uses as the basis for the Tensor G3.

Redmi Note Budget
The Xiaomi Redmi brand this week unveiled a new Note 12 family of devices with a high-resolution display and a 5000mAh battery to increase the appeal of the mid-range "big phone". But keep in mind that the SnapDragon Series 4 chipset limits performance compared to the more popular and more expensive models. Lewis Painter comments:
“… My first impressions of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G are mostly positive, with a nice 120Hz AMOLED display and the same 5000mAh battery as some of the flagships. Admittedly, Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 performance isn't great, and despite the high-resolution 48MP camera, early tests haven't been very positive. There are still tradeoffs to be made in the budget market, and if screen and battery life are important to your smartphone, you'll be hard-pressed to find a smartphone with better features for less.

Three new Huawei phones
This week Huawei introduced the modern P60, P60 Pro and P60 Art, the main difference being either an updated camera or an artistic look designed for fashion shows.
“All three phones share the same core hardware, a 6.67-inch LTPO OLED display with FHD+ (1220x2700 pixels) resolution and 1-120Hz refresh rate. The panel is protected by Kunlu glass and has a built-in fingerprint scanner. "
No Tech has announced the next generation of true wireless headphones. This week we announced (2) hearing aids with Clear Sound technology, LHDC 5.0 codec and Personal Sound Profile:
“Personal audio profiles adjust the equalizer in real time, so the music is optimized for the listener's hearing. Dual connection (Bluetooth MultiPoint) allows you to connect two devices to the headset at the same time. Switching between the two is easy, so you can quickly go from music to calls and back to music. It's very easy to answer. It uses its own Clear Voice technology to make phone calls clearer and is claimed to be the smartest iteration yet.

And finally...
Counterpoint Research's latest smartphone data focuses on the premium market, usually flagship devices, but also high-priced high-end devices like foldable phones. Although they account for more than half of all smartphone revenue, sales are down slightly, by one percent, from last year. But Android makers fighting for this space have ways:
“Among OEMs, Apple's sales in the premium market grew 6% year-over-year, bringing its share to three-quarters of total sales. Apple could have grown bigger if it weren't for the supply disruptions for iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max Amid the 2022 holiday season: Apple reacts to Huawei's fall in China
