With the SmartThings app, the refrigerator can control air cleanliness and monitor energy consumption.
The Family Hub Plus is an extension of Samsung's SmartThings home line that launched in 2016 and aims to automate tasks in the connected home.
Lee Joon-hwa, vice president of Samsung's electronics business, said the new refrigerators offer a "comprehensive experience" that "reflects leading refrigerator innovation and development and design trends," according to a Samsung press release. Written in Korean.
Samsung did not say how much the fridge will cost or when it will be available. More information will be available when the cooler is unveiled at the world's largest Consumer Electronics Show 2023 in Las Vegas, which begins on January 5.
