Vivo Confirms That The X80 Pro+ Was Canceled, As We Turn Towards Waiting For The X90 Pro+
A few weeks ago, we learned that vivo was planning to launch the X80 Pro+ in September, but those plans faced unexpected delays. It's October and the Pro+ is still nowhere to be seen, so we spoke to a company representative after the vivo X Fold+ was launched.
We have some bad news: the vivo X80 Pro+ has been cancelled. Well, "bad" is relative because the next generation is here. The Vivo X70 series will be launched in early September 2021, while the X80 series will be launched in late April 2022. It's time for the X90 models.

Vivo hasn't given us any official information about this launch, but leaker Ice Universe claims that the vivo X90 Pro+ will launch in December. It has a 1-inch main sensor and a new telephoto lens (and special telephoto processing), an upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, and a Samsung E6 AMOLED display.
The X80 Pro+ is rumored to have a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor (up from the original 8 Gen 1), and there was talk of a camera upgrade, replacing the X80 Pro's 12MP 2x and 8MP 5x telephoto lenses with a 50-megapixel pair. . modules (one with JN1 sensor, one with JN2). However, the main camera still had to use a 1/1.3-inch GNV sensor (Samsung GN1 special edition).
It'll be a big upgrade if it launches this month, but given the delays, it's worth jumping straight to the X90 Pro+. First, the 8 Gen 2 processor is designed specifically for TSMC builders (the release of the 8+ Gen 1 was a bit rushed), and the new RAM and memory levels have higher bandwidth and lower power consumption (the promised 46%: UV 4.0 detection ). Also, 1-inch sensors will be the next big thing (literally) for dedicated camera flagships.
