OnePluss Budget Smartwatch Will Track 100+ Workouts And Pack Over 100+ Watch Faces
OnePlus reveals key features of Nord Watch
After months of leaks last week, OnePlus unveiled its first Nord-branded smartwatch, the OnePlus Nord Watch. Unlike the OnePlus Watch, the Nord Watch is considered a budget offering focused on tracking physical activity. Wearables should go official in the coming days, but OnePlus has already revealed some of its key specs. This is typical of the company as it helps create more buzz around the device.
The OnePlus Nord Watch official page confirms that the wearable will feature a 1.78-inch 60Hz AMOLED display with a rated peak brightness of 500 nits. It comes with 105 sports modes with the ability to track activities such as yoga and cricket. For personalization, OnePlus allows the watch to have access to over 100 watch faces. However, they will not be pre-installed on the wearable. Instead, you need to download them from the Companion N Health app available for iOS and Android.
Leaked OnePlus Watch packaging images (via 91Mobiles) have revealed more details about it. The watch will weigh 54g and will have a button on the right side for navigation. It looks similar to the Apple Watch's digital crown, but it's not clear if it will rotate. The boxed watch is priced at Rs 6,999 ($93). It will most likely be cheaper and could cost around Rs 4,999 ($65), which was rumored a few months ago. And the low price means the Nord Watch doesn't run Wear OS. Instead, expect LiteOS, like other wearables in this price range.
The original OnePlus Watch was a colossal failure and was mostly criticized for its lack of experience. Since then, the company has been experimenting with fitness bands, but they haven't produced great results either. It remains to be seen if OnePlus has learned from its mistakes with the Nord Watch.
