  • Samsung Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series will not receive Android 14.
  • Rumors from Samsung's support page hint that these phones might get UI 6, though it hasn't been hinted at.
  • Samsung has quietly updated its support page to remove this misinformation.

Earlier this week, Galaxy S20 or Galaxy Note 20 fans rejoiced when Samsung released a support page highlighting the new camera features in One UI 6 based on Android 14. In a note on that page, Samsung celebrates the year 2020. The phones will reportedly run on Android 14. This was interesting because previous reports suggested that these phones would run on Android 13 forever.

Now, as first spotted by 9to5Google , Samsung has fixed the page in question. Interestingly, we have reached out to Samsung several times for a statement on this issue, but have not received a response. It seems that Samsung does not want to admit this mistake and tries to hide it.

However, if you were expecting the Samsung Galaxy S20 Android 14 or One UI 6 update to make its way to the Galaxy Note 20, it didn't happen. These phones will be on Android 13 forever, at least when it comes to official software support.

I hope the new Samsung phones will have a longer running app. For example, the Galaxy S21 series will receive Android 14 or even Android 15 during its lifetime. However, the Galaxy Note 20 series was the last of its kind. Even if you can't get your hands on the current Note phone, the new Galaxy S Ultra phones are a good replacement because they're the same size and have a built-in S Pen.

Also, the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 won't get Android 14, but they will get software support. Both phones receive monthly updates and will move to quarterly support next year.
