Samsung Admits Android 14 Update Mistake And Disappoints Some Galaxy Phone Owners

While we await the unveiling of Samsung's sleek new Galaxy S24 series, the Korean manufacturer has some bad news for owners of older devices.

Samsung has admitted that it made a mistake by including the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20 in the list of Android phones receiving the latest Android 14 update. The republished list confirms that neither device will receive the One UI 6 update.

According to 9to5Google, Samsung previously included the pair in the list of phones that can use the new features of One UI 6 (the new edition feature). This leads many people to believe that they will actually receive the update.

But the official corrections deleted them. Other 2020 phones that were originally included in the lineup have also been removed. This means that the original Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Fold 2 will not be updated either.

Samsung sent 9to5Google a statement about the error. "One UI Update 6. 7 tips to get the most out of your Galaxy's AI camera was an error in the press release, and we apologize for the confusion.

"We've revised the release and removed the S20 series, Note20 series, Fold2, Flip 5G and Flip LTE from the list of devices eligible to receive One UI 6."

This may be frustrating for owners of three-year-old phones, but it's normal for devices of this age.

Samsung recently updated its update policy to include phones from four years ago, and then said it would only apply to the Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and older models.

Unfortunately, if you have a damaged Samsung Galaxy S20 or any other smartphone and want to have the latest version of the operating system, you should consider upgrading your hardware. Fortunately, Samsung has an update that could come out in January.

Although the recently released Samsung Galaxy 23 FE is a worthy alternative.
