Xiaomi's Redmi sub-brand launched its Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ smartphones in India on Friday, 19 May. This budget model comes with a waterdrop-shaped notch display and is available in a variety of color options. Both devices are powered by a 5000mAh battery and are powered by the MediaTek Helio G36 SoC. They offer up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage. The Redmi A2 series features a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD screen and 8 megapixel dual rear cameras.
Although the two smartphones have similar specifications, the Redmi A2+ is also equipped with a fingerprint scanner. The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ smartphones will go on sale in India on May 23.
Redmi A2, Redmi A2+: Prices
Redmi has announced the price details of the Redmi A2 series smartphones in India. The base variant of the Redmi A2 with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage costs Rs. 5999. The 2GB RAM and 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 6,499, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage model priced at Rs. 7499. On the other hand, the Redmi A2+ is available at Rs. 8,499, has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. This smartphone is offered in a choice of black, light green and light blue colors.
Customers can purchase the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ smartphones in India from various channels including Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Home store and Xiaomi retail partners. Availability will start from 23 May 1200 IST Redmi has launched a special offer for customers using ICICI bank cards offering a cashback of Rs. 500 if you buy a Redmi A2 series smartphone. The dual-SIM smartphones Redmi, Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+, run on Android 13. They boast a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a waterdrop notch housing the front camera. The Redmi A2 series is powered by the MediaTek Helio G36 SoC and offers up to 4GB of RAM. In addition, the device supports the virtual RAM feature, which allows you to expand the available memory up to 7GB.
In terms of camera features, both Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ have an AI-assisted dual rear camera system consisting of an 8 megapixel main sensor and a QVGA camera.
