Tecno Phantom V Fold With MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus SoC Unveiled At MWC 2023: Report

Tecno unveiled the Chinese smartphone maker's first foldable smartphone, the Phantom V Fold, at Mobile World Congress 2023. The phone on display at the company's booth is said to be the world's first smartphone that can be folded from left to right. The smartphone is said to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset. The company said the chipset has an AnTuTu score of over 1.08 million. At the same MWC event, Tecno also showcased its new chameleon paint technology.

Phantom V Fold is Tecno's first foldable smartphone. According to a Gizmochina report, this is the world's first left-to-right folding smartphone and will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset. The dual SIM smartphone is equipped with a dual SIM processor specially designed for this device and manufactured using TSMC's advanced 4nm manufacturing process, which provides better performance while maintaining low power consumption.

The report added that the Phantom V Fold also features an ultra-clear five-lens camera with a 50-megapixel main lens with a dedicated light sensor and two secondary rear lenses. The newly released phone is said to have a dual front camera for selfies and video calls.

So far, the company has not provided any other information about the phone. The device, its dimensions, camera, battery life and so on. Although we are waiting for more details about them, they will be revealed soon. In a previous review, Tecno reported that the Phantom V Fold has an inverted viscous hinge. Whether this helps the device fold remains to be confirmed.

Tecno also unveiled its Chameleon coating technology at MWC 2023, a full spectrum electrically controlled prism coating technology that uses a grid of submicron prismatic material that changes direction in the presence of an electric field.
