The Tecno MegaBook S1 Is A Super Thin And Light 15.6" Laptop (120Hz) With 12th Gen Core I7 CPU

Tecno introduced its first laptop at IFA, now the company is launching something more premium: the Tecno MegaBook S1. This laptop is very thin and light, measuring 13.5 mm (0.53 inches) and weighing 1.35 kg (2.97 lbs). It's small for a 15.6-inch laptop, but the magnesium alloy construction makes for a solid chassis.

The 15.6-inch display has a 3.2K resolution with a 16:10 aspect ratio. It's a high-quality panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB coverage. It's also quite bright for a laptop, reaching 450 nits and flicker-free with DC dimming.

The MegaBook T1 introduced a few months ago was equipped with an 11th generation Intel processor. The S1 has been upgraded to a 12th Gen Core i7 (35W TDP) with dual fan cooling. For storage you can choose between 512 GB and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, the main memory is 16 GB (LPDDR5) in both cases.

Despite its low weight, the notebook has a large 70 Wh battery. For charging, it uses one of the two USB-C ports and the included 65W GaN charger. In addition, there are two USB-A ports, a full-sized HDMI, a 3.5 mm jack and a microSD card reader.

Tecno MegaBook S1 is a 16-inch (120 Hz) ultra-thin and light notebook with a 12th generation Core i7 processor.

MegaBook S1 comes with Windows 11 and some special features from Tecno. For example, there is NFC, which allows you to quickly connect a Tecno smartphone and show its screen on a laptop screen using the OneLeap feature.

The sharp and accurate color display promises a great multimedia experience and the speakers add to it - Tecno managed to fit 6 speakers and add DTS:X Ultra support. There are two AI-powered microphones for taking calls. The built-in webcam is equipped with artificial intelligence that can detect when someone is looking over your shoulder and turn off the screen.

The Tecno MegaBook S1 will be available in select markets in two configurations: 512GB storage for $1,500 and 1TB storage for $1,600 (that's €1,425 / £123,500 and €1,520 / £131,500 respectively).
