On November 18-19, the legendary Time Warp event took place at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York. Spirit of Artbat and Enrico Sangiuliano.
Time Warp brought a secret techno party vibe to the Brooklyn show. "Like all EDM shows, we strive to bring a pure party, pure look, pure sound to the dance floor with no special effects," said Time Warp co-founder Robin Ebinger.
The German phenomenon was first noticed in 2010. In 2014, on the 20th anniversary of Time Warp in the United States, Tech Support founder Rob Thoma met Ebinger's colleague at a music festival in Mexico. This interaction, according to Tom, led to the connection that first brought Time Warp to Brooklyn. The November 18th and 19th show featured lights that illuminated the entire dance floor and inside the warehouse.
No matter how big the stage is, the product is very tasty, even if there are thousands of people, it still feels like a club", says Toma. "If you close your eyes, you won't feel like you're in a room with thousands of people."
The American edition of Time Warp, which celebrated its fifth anniversary this year, had one room, while the first event in Mannheim had seven different floors. "You really feel like you're in a big club and you can jump from room to room," Ebinger said. “19 hours of music, 50 different artists and most artists stop all night. There are artists, many industries [people], many environments. It's like a big family going to a big nice club instead of a big club. The mini-festival is a marathon, not a race," Toma added. .
The event in Germany, according to Ebinger, always takes place in late March or early April to kick off the music festival season. With artists and industry representatives, and over 50% of visitors representing 80 countries worldwide, the event proves that Time Warp is a trip for techno lovers. The Brooklyn Mini-Festival was a multicultural event attended by people from all over the world.
"Thinking at 30 and staying true to your roots, not really changing but just improving your overall outlook from day one, is really inspiring," says Thoma. "My involvement with Time Warp shaped who I am today in this space and supporting Teched."
